The Newborn Medicine Program at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh is proud to share some of the key research and clinical achievements from our faculty and staff over the past year. Once again, our hospital has been nationally ranked in all 11 specialties, with our program recognized among the top in neonatology by U.S. News & World Report in their “Best Children’s Hospitals” rankings. This recognition underscores our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional care and advancing the field of neonatology. As our program continues to grow, we remain dedicated to providing comprehensive and innovative family-centered care for critically ill newborns and infants of all gestational ages. Serving patients throughout western Pennsylvania and beyond, we care for those facing a range of medical, surgical, and congenital conditions. Our mission is to optimize health and outcomes for the neonates under our care through continuous advancements in our clinical programs, research initiatives, and educational efforts. This commitment is also reflected in our extensive training programs designed for physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other health care professionals.

UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh has received multiple national ranking recognitions from Newsweek in their "America's Best Children's Hospitals 2024." The list was compiled from four data sources: a nationwide online survey of health care professionals working in pediatrics, hospital quality metrics, patient experience surveys and whether the facilities have implemented Patient-Reported Outcome Measures, or PROMs, to optimize care. Neonatology ranked #6.
