Dr. Shah earned her MBBS degree from Sardar Patel University in India, followed by an internal medicine residency program at Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College. She completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and she is currently an endocrinology fellow at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
