UPMC Children’s Hematology/Oncology Specialist A. Kim Ritchey, MD, Honored With ASPHO Distinguished Career Award

The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh congratulates A. Kim Ritchey, MD, for receiving the 2023 Distinguished Career Award from The American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (ASPHO). Dr. Ritchey is the director of the Pediatric Hemophilia Program at UPMC Children’s.

The Distinguished Career Award is presented annually to a senior physician who during their career has had a major impact on the subspeciality, through some combination of research, education, patient care, or advocacy.

Dr. Ritchey has extensive experience caring for children with blood diseases and cancer. His career has been focused primarily on hemophilia and has cared for infants and children with the condition for more than 30 years.
