UPMC Center for Liver Care Welcomes Stela Celaj, MD, PhD, and Alison Jazwinski Faust, MD, MHS, FAASLD

The UPMC Center for Liver Care is excited to welcome Stela Celaj, MD, PhD, and Alison Jazwinski Faust, MD, MHS, FAASLD, as the newest transplant hepatologists at the Center.

Stela Celaj, MD, PhD

Clinical, Research, and Academic Expertise

Dr. Celaj received her medical degree from Northwestern University. Prior to her medical degree, Dr. Celaj earned her PhD in microbiology and immunology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Following Dr. Celaj’s medical degree, she completed a residency in internal medicine at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology and an advanced fellowship in transplant hepatology at UPMC.

Dr. Celaj is board certified in internal medicine.

She is a member of several professional societies, including the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the European Association for the Study of the Liver, and the Pennsylvania Society of Gastroenterology.

Alison Jazwinski Faust, MD, MHS, FAASLD

Clinical, Research, and Academic Expertise

Dr. Faust received her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University. Following this, she completed a residency in internal medicine at Duke University Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Duke University Medical Center and a clinical research fellowship at Duke Clinical Research Institute.

Dr. Faust is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

She is a member of several professional societies, including the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society of Transplant.
