The Fetal and Perinatal Cardiology Program is a unique branch of the Heart Institute that combines the expertise of UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital with the team at UPMC Children’s. It consists of neonatal cardiology, fetal cardiology, and maternal cardiology.

Our neonatal cardiology team assesses and manages full-term and premature babies with heart defects. At the program, our team diagnoses and treats:

  • Congenital heart disease (CHD).
  • Heart function in very sick newborns.
  • Heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias).

Our experts collaborate with staff from reproductive genetics, high-risk obstetrics, ultrasound, and neonatology in order to provide high-quality, personalized care to each baby and mother seen at the Heart Institute at UPMC Children’s. Dr. Weinberg brings her extensive experience in imaging and fetal cardiology to continually advance the program and provide patients with the highest quality care.
