Dr. Richard DuerrThe Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition congratulates Richard H. Duerr, MD, for being awarded a Uniting to Care & Cure Award from the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. This award highlights Dr. Duerr’s dedication to finding cures for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and improving the lives of those affected by it.

Uniting to Care & Cure Awards are presented to health care providers who show dedication to the IBD community of patients and caregivers and contribute to the Foundation’s research, education, support, and advocacy initiatives.

About Dr. Duerr

Dr. Duerr holds the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Genetic Research Chair and is a professor of Medicine, Human Genetics, and Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Pittsburgh. He is co-director and scientific director of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center and has been involved in research related to IBD throughout his career.
