The Department of Neurology is proud to have recruited Jenny Linnoila, MD, PhD, as an assistant professor of Neurology within the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC. As a clinician-scientist, Dr. Linnoila has a clinical focus in autoimmune neurology in addition to a research focus in autoimmune encephalitis.
She obtained her PhD and MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2007 and 2009, respectively. This was followed by a neurology residency at Massachusetts General Brigham and a fellowship in Autoimmune Neurology at Mayo Clinic. Following fellowship, she returned to Massachusetts General Hospital and rose to the rank of Assistant Professor in Neurology at Harvard Medical School.
Currently, Dr. Linnoila serves as a key faculty member in the Neuro-immunology and Multiple Sclerosis Care Center within the Department of Neurology at Pitt and is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Neurological Association. She also shares her clinical and research expertise by teaching and advising undergraduates, medical and graduate students, neurology residents, fellows, and staff.
Dr. Linnoila has served nationally as a scientific reviewer, moderator, and speaker in autoimmune neurology for American Academy of Neurology annual meetings. She has also been part of the Autoimmune Task Force for the International League Against Epilepsy.
