UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine Division Chief, Juan C. Celedón, MD, DrPH, ATSF, will deliver the annual Amberson Lecture at the 2025 American Thoracic Society conference (ATS 2025).
Dr. Celedón’s lecture, titled “A Nosy Look Into Asthma Disparities,” will be on Sunday, May 18 during the Awards Ceremony (4:30-5:30 pm).
About the Amberson Lecture
The Amberson Lecture recognizes a career of major contributions to clinical or basic research that have advanced our fundamental understanding of the basic, translational, or clinical approaches to respiratory disease, critical illness, or sleep disorders. This award also recognizes exemplary professionalism, collegiality and citizenship through mentorship and leadership in the ATS community. The Lecture is given in honor of James Burns Amberson, an international authority on chest disease and tuberculosis, and was established in 1956.
“It is a great honor to be selected to give this year’s Amberson Lecture at ATS 2025,” says Dr. Celedón. “This lecture is the highest scientific honor conferred by the ATS, and thus one of the highest such honors in respiratory medicine worldwide.”
