The UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute and the Heart Institute at UPMC Children’s are excited to welcome Natasha K. Wolfe, MD. Dr. Wolfe specializes in cardiology and adult congenital heart disease. She practices with the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute and is affiliated with UPMC Presbyterian, UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital.
Dr. Wolfe received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed residency in internal medicine at UPMC. From there, Dr. Wolfe attended Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where she completed cardiovascular diseases fellowship, adult congenital heart disease fellowship, and earned a certificate in Cardio-Obstetrics. She also completed coursework in clinical research methods and statistics.
Clinical and Research Interests
Dr. Wolfe's primary clinical focus is on the management and treatment of adult congenital heart disease (ACHD). She has a special interest in pregnancy and heart disease, echocardiography, inherited aortopathies, and management of the Fontan circulation in the adult.
Dr. Wolfe is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Cardiology, and American Heart Association. She is the author of many peer-reviewed manuscripts and has spoken both nationally and internationally. She was a guest expert on the popular cardiology education podcast, CardioNerds, as part of their ACHD series. Her research interests include clinical outcomes research in pregnancy and ACHD, Fontan circulation patients and access to advanced heart failure therapies, as well as quality of life assessment and improvement in adult congenital heart disease. Dr. Wolfe was also a committee member of the Forum for Women in Medicine (FWIM) at Washington University in St. Louis, where she supported the professional development of female physicians in medicine through skill-building workshops, mentorship, and networking events.
She is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, and adult echocardiography. Dr. Wolfe is also board eligible in adult congenital heart disease and applies this expertise to treating patients of all ages at the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Center at UPMC Children’s and the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute.
