Institute for Precision Medicine and Magee-Womens Research Institute Faculty Presenting at PMWC 2024

The 2024 Precision Medicine World Conference will gather recognized leaders, top global researchers and medical professionals, as well as innovators across health care and biotechnology sectors in Silicon Valley, California, from January 24 to 26.

Researchers and leaders across UPMC will be presenting at the conference, demonstrating their expertise in precision medicine.

Adrian Lee, PhD, Director of the Institute for Precision Medicine at UPMC and University of Pittsburgh, a joint effort to move biomedical research into personalized well-being and clinical care, will chair the, 'Antibody- Drug Conjugates (ADCs): Tracing the Evolution and Forecasting the Future' panel on Wednesday, January 24 from 3:45 – 4:45pm PST.

Dr. Lee is also a professor of Pharmacology, Chemical Biology, and Human Genetics at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. He has had a key role in shaping precision medicine research at the University of Pittsburgh and personalized care at UPMC.

Yoel Sadovsky, MD, Executive Director at Magee-Womens Research Institute, will co-chair Track 3: Women’s Health Track on Thursday, January 25 from 9:00am – 4:00pm PST and discuss “Feto-placental Sex Differences.”

Dr. Sadovsky is also the Elsie Hilliard Hillman Chair of Women’s Health Research, Distinguished Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, & and Reproductive Sciences, and Associate Dean, Women's Health Research and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh.

Additional PMWC 2024 presentations include Mani Mohindru, PhD, CEO and Director of Novasenta, one of UPMC Enterprises’ portfolio companies, speaking at the “Emerging Therapeutics Showcase: Novasenta” session on Thursday, January 25, beginning at 9:30am PST.

Phil Empey, PharmD, PhD, Associate Director for Pharmacogenomics of the Institute for Precision Medicine, will present “Current and Desired State of PGx Education” on Friday, January 26, beginning at 2pm PST.
