Precision Medicine World Conference (PMWC) 2025

A number of UPMC and University of Pittsburgh faculty and researchers will be attending and participating in the Precision Medicine World Conference (PMWC) 2025. The Institute for Precision Medicine, a joint effort by UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh to move biomedical research into personalized well-being and clinical care, is a sponsor of the event.

Participation Highlights:

February 6 | Track 4 | Clinical Utility of Liquid Biopsies
Adrian Lee, PhD, Director (IPM) is scheduled to discuss "Improving Sensitivity of MRD and MCED - Tumor-agnostic vs Tumor-informed ctDNA Approaches" with Marija Balic, MD, PhD.

February 6 | Track 3 | Women's Health Track
Yoel Sadovsky, MD, will co-chair the track. Dr. Sadovsky will chair "From Fertility to Pregnancy" and "Harnessing Pre-Pregnancy Data to Predict Pregnancy Health."

February 7 | Track 1 | Addressing PGx Myths
Philip Empey, PhD, PharmD, Associate Director (IPM) and Associate Professor (University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy) will be featured on the panel: "Science Backing PGx is Limited." Dr. Empey will also receive the PMWC2025 Luminary Award for his contributions to the advancement and practical application of pharmacogenomics in clinical settings.

February 7 | Track 3 | Infectious Disease
Mylynda Massart, MD, PhD, Associate Director (IPM), Associate Professor (University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine), Director, UPMC Primary Care Precision Medicine Clinic will discuss 'Harnessing Emerging Diagnostic Technologies in Primary and Critical Care.'
