In this CME, members of our faculty discuss a range of topics including how to recognize the benefits of robotic bronchoscopy as part of the thoracic surgeon’s armamentarium, the basics of the Nuss procedure with a patient, and why patients with COVID-associated lung failure can be very debilitated at the time of lung transplant and how they have fared after double lung transplant.
Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the benefits of robotic bronchoscopy as part of the thoracic surgeon’s armamentarium
- Discuss the basics of the Nuss procedure with a patient
- Recognize that heart failure and liver failure are intimately linked
- Discuss some of the benefits of a team approach to the treatment of infective endocarditis with patients and their families and with colleagues
- Explain why patients with COVID-associated lung failure can be very debilitated at the time of lung transplant and how they have fared after double lung transplant
